3ti Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)

If you require investment support to develop your solar car park, we offer a solar financing agreement. By entering into a PPA, 3ti will fund the entire installation of your commercial solar PV system, allowing your organisation to reap the benefits of generating clean energy and lowering your carbon footprint, whilst preserving your capital.

We will fund your solar car park

3ti will cover the costs of the development, construction, photovoltaic (PV) system, EV charging infrastructure and much more. In turn, organisations simply pay for the green renewable electricity that is generated by the solar canopies.

3ti own, operate, insure, and maintain the solar installation, maximising performance and hence electricity savings through 24/7 monitoring, 365 days a year.

What is a PPA?

The PPA fixes the cost of electricity, delivering immediate savings whilst providing security of supply and long-term visibility of future energy costs.

Once the solar car park is installed, additional income streams can be realised from EV charging and grid balancing services, advertising and premium rate parking.

Getting EV ready & switching to clean energy can be overwhelming. We will guide you every step of the way and can even fund your solar project.

PPA business benefits

No upfront costs

We will fund your solar car park, so you can use your budget for other projects.

Cheaper electricity costs

Green electricity at a discount to your current supplier.

Optimised performance

3ti will monitor and maintain your system to ensure the solar panels are working at optimum levels.

Electricity price hedging

PPA rates are indexed throughout the term, protecting against supplier price increases.

Avoid business rate increases

When using a PPA, the asset is owned by a third-party investor, so business rates for companies with a solar installation do not apply.

No operation responsibilities

Focus on your business and leave the management of your solar car park to the experts.

Self-financed commercial solar car park

If your organisation has the funds, you may prefer to self-finance your solar car park, using Capital Expenditure (CAPEX). This means you would have full responsibility for the car park, benefiting from the renewable electricity to power your building and EV charge points.

We provide the same level of service and support at each stage of the design and build of the project. Once the solar car park is complete, we provide Operation and Maintenance services, to optimise system performance, as well as monitoring and servicing the solar canopies for maximum output.

The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme

We can also support you if your grant application to the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme has been successful.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to encourage green investment, supporting the Government’s net-zero and clean growth goals.

New applications for the scheme have now closed, but it can be used for capital energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation projects. It applies to public sector non-domestic buildings, including central government departments and non-departmental public bodies in England only. It delivers the following objectives:

Frequently asked questions

Simply provide us with the size and location of your car park or outdoor space, together with your electricity usage and pricing. We will analyse and test the viability of your project, presenting financial savings and carbon reduction forecasts.

Once a PPA agreement has been signed, we will fund and manage the design, development, installation and maintenance of the solar car park. In return, you pay the monthly electricity costs over the contract term. 3ti will own the hardware and technology.

3ti only works with Bloomberg List Tier 1 Solar equipment manufacturers. Solar panels and other components typically come with up to a 30-year warranty.

During the PPA contract, any hardware failures such as panels or inverters are fully covered by 3ti (owner of the system). Repair and replacement costs are 3ti’s responsibility, not yours.

On average 3ti PPA customers typically save 15-20% on their current electricity bills. Many save much more, depending on the energy output of the solar car park and on-site usage.

The PPA will pass to the new owner. The new owner will have the right to cancel the agreement with an agreed compensation payment to the owner.

As part of the PPA agreement, the owner will have an export agreement in place, so the power generated by the solar can be sold to the grid. If a new company takes over the site, they will be offered a new PPA with 3ti.

Yes. Terms can always be agreed upon to enable you to buy out of the agreement.
