Project PROMETHEUS Solar count down at the Duke of Gloucester Barracks as solar farm nears completion

With a total of 3000 solar panels to install at the Duke of Gloucester Barracks, as part of the 1.4MWp solar farm, we’ve now delivered three quarters.

With one more delivery to go, the 3ti Energy Hubs team will then focus on the digging! They will complete the excavation of a 1.2km trench to carry the cable to the local connection point to supply the Barracks with environmentally friendly electrons!

The solar farm is supporting the British Army’s sustainability target and is expected to supply the Barracks with one third of its electricity needs. It is the second of four pilot sites delivered as part of ‘Project #Prometheus’ to increase renewable energy across the Defence estate. Well done Team British Army, 3ti and all involved.
